My first impression of Hanoi was chaos, noises of motorbikes and cars horning non-stop and crazy traffic. However, the people in Hanoi are living a peaceful and calm life. They are friendly and kind to tourists. I really liked the numerous art gallaries in the Old Quarter. The painters are really talented. I bought copies of Van Gogh's paintings and a few oil paintings by Vietnamese painters. The picture shows one of the paintings I bought. U like it?

r USD8 a day and zipped our way through the Hanoi streets in search of attractions in Hanoi. We did as the Romans do and horned every few seconds... cool!!!! Thats the way of life in Hanoi. On our bike, we managed to visit the Temple of Literature, One Pillar Pagoda, Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, etc.

As for food, the most I have seen is Pho, a simple rice noodle soup often eaten as a breakfast dish in the home or at streetside cafes, but also served in restaurants as a meal. Two varieties dominate the Hanoi scene: Pho Bò, containing beef, and Pho Gà, containing chicken. It non oily and refreshing. No wonder the Vietnamese are so slim : )
